Director of Supply Chain Management in Lubbock, TX

The Director of Supply Chain Management will primarily be responsible to manage all aspects of supply chain activities for one of the Science groups of our client in the US, production for Mexico and coordination of Central American production and processing. Responsibilities
? Provide leadership to the U.S. Cotton Supply Chain to develop and implement commercial strategies that will produce the highest quality cotton planting seed in quantities sufficient to meet sales and marketing forecast;
? Supervise supply chain activities (freight, warehousing, processing, production supply, forecasting, inventory management, fuzzy seed sales, etc.) for US, Mexico and Central America;
? Coordinate and manage counter season program in Central America, parent seed program, field production, five processing plants in 5 states and warehousing in multiple locations.
? Create a comprehensive strategic business plan that synchronizes processing, logistics, field production, parent seed/counter-season production, and QC lab to ensure all quality, supply, and financial objectives are met;
? Evaluate new methods and tactics for managing production, COGS, working capital, processing risks and new variety introductions;
? Evaluate new and innovative solutions to improve overall operational efficiency of our seed business in the area of data management between all business unit functions;
? Evaluate, lead and implement synergies and/or operating efficiencies with other seed businesses;
? Provide analyses to optimize distribution and cost by planning transport options to ensure timely availability of finished products to distributors and also monitoring of seed returns to plants;
? Facilitate production planning according to sales forecasts, market and competitive trends, and availability of inventory globally;
? Expedite the introduction of new varieties from breeder?s seed to commercial introductions;
? Lead and evaluate analysis for building new facilities that would increase efficiencies and capacity;
? Manage inventory to minimize write offs of commercial grade seed;
? Control costs of goods and working capital management to ensure that all financial parameters are met or exceeded;
? Evaluate and implement new packaging technologies to meet market needs;
? Adhere, guide, implement, and input into company QHSE and QMS standards. BEST INDUSTRY Agriculture, Materials Science
BEST DEPARTMENT Supply Chain Management Qualifications
B.S. degree in an agricultural-related science, business or appropriate related field is required. An advanced degree is strongly preferred.
A minimum of 10+ years understanding and experience in supply chain and QC management, and agriculture;
Experience in seed operations;
Knowledge of the seed and biotech sector with a proven track record.
Strong inter-relational and intercultural skills;
Ability to successfully manage financials;
Experience in interacting with sales and marketing business functions;
Strong background and proven track record in people management and leadership skills;
Strong analytical, influence, organizational, and innovative negotiation skills;
Excellent oral, written and network communication skills to effectively provide/present information to internal and external customers;
General computer proficiency including standard software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Exchange, PowerPoint, database management);
